About Me
My name is Roberto Calero, and here are some things about me. I was born and raised in Miami, FL, but my family and I are from Nicaragua.
I didn't know what I wanted to do for a while, but for some reason, I was always on the receiving end of people telling me their problems. I noticed this and decided to become a therapist. Then, around my second year in college, I met a professor who taught a forensic psychology class. From there, I decided to switch my focus from wanting to be a therapist to becoming a forensic psychologist.
This is who I am currently; recently, I became president of PASS (Psychology Ambassadors for Student Success). Being in an organization and having grown with the student organization has improved my confidence and has helped me grow and make my goals more transparent. I've met many people interested in doing what I want, and all the different paths people can take to reach a common goal are interesting. Being a part of the 2023 GHSA team will help me achieve and bring me closer to my goals. Some of these goals include being the first in my family to get their bachelor's degree and being the first to go to graduate school and obtain a Ph.D. I've looked into the effects crime has on its victims, a topic that interests me a lot. During my time in India, I will be looking into the effects human trafficking has on stress and anxiety within the Indian Population.
